Ariel Eva Tuadraq Atauchaq Tweto was her name when she was given it upon her birth. Alya is her younger sister. While her father was in Alaska to promote the game of hockey, they got to know each other. Her father was in love with her and then married her mother. They later started their own Era Alaska aviation company. Ariel as well as Alya were raised in Nome, Alya and her family lived in Nome. Alya attended Emerson College before graduating from Chapman University. Ariel began her career as an actor at a quite young age. This was when she was a part of the television show Wipeout. Ariel became famous after an incident in which she asks for the pole that she can't see yet it is right in her sight. The interest of the public in this young girl led the producers to approach the Tweto family about doing an actual series about their life in Alaskan wilderness. Jim, her father doubts the idea, but is willing to film the show in his office. As a bush pilot he is still the head of his aviation company named Era Alaska. Flying Wild Alaska, a reality series broadcast on Discovery Channel, was a great success due to that the Twetos struggle managing their aviation firm. For many Americans the challenge to live in a world that evokes memories of the early days Wild West is riveting. The struggle between humans and sometimes cruel nature makes fans celebrate with the Twetos in their triumphs and sympathize with them in their losses. With Jim at the pilot's chair and his wife Ferno taking care of things on the floor, the family is never left without the action. Ariel has a jovial personality and is a joy to be around. Ariel's father Jim, and mother Ferno both have pilot licenses, so it's not surprising for Ariel to be interested in flight from a young age. The 2011 to 2012 seasons of Flying Alaska follows Ariel's training as a pilot ultimately earning her pilot's license in April 2012. After that, she assumes the running of the airline's operations for the family following the retirement of her father. One of the major issues for many Alaskans has to do with the widespread suicide rate in teens, with rates up to seven times more than the national average. Ariel co-founded a charity called Popping Bubbles, where she speaks to youths about how important it is to have goals in life, and working towards your goals instead of giving into depression.
